Gave The Gray Ghost a good wash and waxing today. Looks 7/10. I’ve never clay barred and probably never will, the finish is flawed enough not to be worth the effort. Got some drips and missed buffs, and I need to come back for the glass.
As usual, the wheels had serious brake dust cakeitude. The little sponge-on-a-stick brush I bought last time was pretty useless, so I picked up at the Home Depot this, which I now dub Brakescalibur.
Did a pretty OK job, but it really needs either frequent attention, or some toothbrush action. I give this cleaning a 5/10. Lots of misses and tough crannies.

Definitely worth it to use a clay bar! Waxing (with a good carnauba paste) is nice and all, but claying really takes the step from pretty clean and shiny to WOW ITS SO SHINY AND SMOOTH!! Using a clay bar on a car that has never been clayed is such an experience. Does not take much longer than waxing either unless you are really a perfectionist about it.
